CAROLINE  DE LANE LEA  

An extensive rebuild to this family townhouse created an open-plan kitchen / living space with glass walls looking out to the garden. Views to provide year-round interest and bringing the outside in were key to the new design along with practical space for outdoor eating and entertaining.

The semi-circular design of the garden reflects a fan light window in the glass extension and gives shape to the overall garden design. Bespoke paving was specified to match the internal flooring, linking internal and external space. Sandstone sett detailing to the lawn and path edging, along with gravel paths keeps the hard landscaping materials to a minimum. Raised planting beds double up as extra seating. Planting for year-round interest, colour and scent add softness to the design. Lighting brings the garden to life at night.
